According to Turkish Ministry of Trade statistics, the bilateral trade volume between Turkey and Lithuania in the first eight months of 2024 reached 715 million USD. During this period, Turkey’s exports to Lithuania amounted to 311 million USD, while imports totalled 404 million USD.
In this period, iron and steel products, electrical transformers, fertilizers, automotive and agricultural machinery, fish products stood out as the main export categories. Meanwhile, scrap iron or steel and furniture constituted a large portion of our imports.
In addition to the bilateral trade volume, which is expected to exceed one billion USD by the end of 2024, the presence of our engineering, architecture, and construction firms that have won NATO tenders in Lithuania, along with the 180,000 Lithuanian tourists who visited Turkey in the first eight months, also presents a positive outlook for our services sector exports, alongside the export of goods.
As the Turkish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, we congratulate all Lithuanian and Turkish companies contributing to the growing trade between the two countries, and we invite Turkish companies and brands that have not yet engaged in trade with Lithuania, which may be small in population but is geopolitically considered the gateway to the European Union for our firms.
